A
BRIEF HISTORY OF THE SHORES & STEELE SHOW:
Shores & Steele
began a two-person afternoon show “experiment” back
in August of 1994. Toledo had never had a two-person team before
in the afternoon, so on one ill-fated day, the K100 management
decided to give it a shot! Gary (Shores) and Harvey (Steele)
had been in the Toledo radio market for quite some time, Shores
came here in ’75 and Steele in ’81, and both were
veterans of WTOD-AM 1560 when it was Toledo’s only country
music station. Barely a year into their partnership, they
won the “Radio Personalities of the Year” for a
medium-sized market from the Country Music Association! Shores & Steele
switched to mornings in 2000, and somehow, they are now in
their 16th year together as a team – the longest running
team in Toledo radio!

hour beginning at 6 a.m.! London has been doing the news
in Toledo on the radio longer than anyone, and we’re
glad he’s part of our team. He’s the “Dean,” he’s
the “Bureau Chief,” and he puts up with Shores & Steele's
abuse every morning, too! For more, CLICK
