Grand Prize Contest: In order for a grand prize to be awarded to an eligible contestant, the contestant must print and sign their full name on the official affidavit of eligibility prior to their attempt and must successfully make the grand prize attempts. The basketball must completely pass through the designated net on the fly for each successful shot.
Eligible shot attempt requirements:
-
Depending on the venue for this event, it may be necessary to mark the basketball court surface for the designated shots. All demarcation lines must be distinctly marked and clearly visible. A foot fault (contestant’s foot touching or crossing over the respective demarcation line(s)) will disqualify that particular shot attempt. A contestant will not be allowed another attempt to replace the faulted shot.
-
Contestants may not attempt any practice or warm-up basketball shots in any manner prior to their contest attempt(s) on the designated event date(s).
-
Contestants may only have one (1) attempt at each of the designated shots.
-
The contestant must shoot towards the basket that they are facing, and may not have their back to the basket when attempting the shot.
-
All basketball shots must be attempted and made through the same hoop on the fly in order to be considered a qualifying basket. Once a shot is released, the ball may not come in contact with the playing surface or any part of the ceiling, and may not tip, bounce or deflect off of any surface, person or object (except the backboard or rim) prior to passing through the hoop. The shot must qualify as a regulation basket according to all National Federation of State High School Association rules.
